Fall has always been a really special time for me. As I can be the most sensitive and nostalgic person, the crisp weather and the feeling that the season is coming to an end boosts these feelings. I guess it’s impossible to really describe the feelings but I’m certain of this: it’s strong and always shows up when the skies are blue, the leafs are changing colour and the wind touches my whole being…
Since I got back from France the weather has been pretty unstable but also really beautiful for periods. We’ve had full weeks of climbing in perfect conditions -climbing every day. I was hoping to finish all my projects but… they are so crimpy, only allowing a few tries a day and then the skin is wasted which makes it impossible to try anything hard in this style for several days. But as this french climber once said: -”the rock is not a frog -it won’t jump away!”. I guess he was right and I just need to come back and try harder.
It’s been a pretty easy time for music but had a few gigs and recordings, the craziest being at the Yaki Da club in Gothenburg – a real all nighter…
But most importantly it’s been a time to catch up with friends and family before moving on again. Right now I’m at the Helsinki airport, thinking back at the past times and looking forward. Coming up next is the Petzl Roctrip (climbing festival) in China, traveling and climbing (and hopefully some qi gong training), and the moving on to visit friends and climb in Japan. Last time I visited these countries I called it ”the Red Dragon Tour”. The journey continues…
